The 2016 Malaysia Autoshow was held from November 10 to 13, 2016. As one of Malaysia’s largest annual events, the autoshow has a great influence in Southeast Asia. BAIC’s RHD products had their debut in Southeast Asia and BAIC showed up with over 150 other automakers, putting its RHD products on display. Mustapa Mohamed, Malaysia’s Minister of International Trade and Industry, was present and unveiled BAIC brand. Madani Sahari, CEO of the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI), attended the unveiling ceremony.

On the second media day of the autoshow, BAIC held a brand and product launch conference in association with its local partner, announcing the official launch of the brand, RHD D20, and RHD EV200 in Malaysia. Previously, through local social media, OOH advertising, and other online and offline promotion platforms, BAIC has conducted several rounds of warm-up promotion for its brand and RHD models. During the launch conference, the BAIC brand drew great attention from Malaysian media and consumers. At the launch conference, MAI signed a strategic cooperation agreement with BAIC, laying a solid foundation for BAIC’s entry into Malaysia. Besides, BAIC and Universiti Teknikal Mara SDN. BHD. exchanged Memorandum of Understanding which will focus on education, entrepreneurship, training and R&D. And BAIC MB50/MB53 will become school bus of the university.

BAIC’s participation in the autoshow shows its brand concept of the “Better and Ingenious Choice” and its determination to deepen operations in the Southeast Asian RHD market. In the future, BAIC will build products suiting the local market under the guidance of BAIC’s spirit of workmanship, and persistently deliver the “Best service in the town” to customers, in a bid to build BAIC into a trustworthy leading auto brand in Southeast Asia.
